Explore Northern Vietnam By Bike . Taking the long road through the North West traverlleres enter a remote land of mountains and colorful tribes people whose songs of love ring out about the din of the weekend market. The northwest loop is a fantastic route for cyclist. The ride towards Sapa meanders through grass valleys to climb alongside crescent paddies and corn fields into a ring of mountains the French once dubbed the ” Tonkinese Alpes”. Above all else towers Fansipan, at 3,143 metres Vietnam’s highest peak. The mountain pass 15km outside Sapa is the highest one in Vietnam ~ 2,000 meters above sea level…
Day 1 – Ha Noi Challenging to Nghia Lo ( Yen bai ) (L/D)
Pick up your hotel in Ha Noi at 7:30 you will be met up with our team at your hotel in Hanoi. Depart for Yen Bai. Stops will be made en route for you to cycle. Our cycling is a spectacular ride on back roads that take us to Nghia Lo through a terrain of tea plantations, lush forests, rice fields and gum trees. The town sits on a mountain ridge overlooking the Red and Black River and is home to the Thai, Nung, H’mong, La Ha and Ma peoples. Stay in Nghia Lo hotel.

Day 2 : Nghia Lo Challenging to Tu Le – Mu Cang Chai – Than Uyen (B/L/D)
Breakfast , Today we will tough cycle out of Nghia Lo passing large white limestone mountains as we explore the “Real Vietnam”. Following rolling road, to end the day in Tu Le. Leaving Tu Le we travel through rugged terrain with dense vegetation and come into contact with the Black Hmong and the mysterious White Tay people, who are famed for their folk music, poems and songs. The road winds down out of the hills and we descend into valley to end the day at Than Uyen.

Day 3: Than Uyen Tough to Sapa (B/L/D)
From Than Uyen we begin with a gentle 30km ascent to ride along the Hoang Lien Son mountain range through magnificent landscape. Then, from Binh Lu Junction there is another hard ascent of 30 km to the top of the Tram Ton Pass, on our way to Sa Pa. We stop on route to visit the “silver waterfall”, before descending into Sapa for the final 15kms.

Day 4: Sapa Cycling to Villages (B )
Breakfast, Cycling from Sapa to Lao Chai – Ta Van and Ta Phin village is inhabited by the Red Dzao , H’mong , Giay people. You start the bicycle ride right from Sapa town and pedaling downhill to the village. Cycling on paved and single roads; taking picture of beautiful terraced rice fields; meeting up with the Red Dzao and H’mong people offers a real life experience.Cycling uphill back to Sapa . Afternoon free to explore Sapa by your own .

Day 5: Sapa – Luc Yen ( B , L , D )
This morning ride from Sapa to Luc Yen is quite easy and enjoyable. We can start the day at 8Am, hit the 40 km road down to Lao Cai where we can see China from Vietnam, and then keep riding on the beautiful and quiet big road No 70. And then make a turn to small country road to Luc Yen – a nice village of the Tay people who live in stilted-houses between green palm trees.

Day 6: Luc Yen – Vu Linh ( B , L , D )
The road from Luc Yen to Vu Linh is quite flat. The ride today should be the most enjoyable, after saying good bye to the family, we will ride slowly on the small country road with the green mountain and rice paddy fields on two sides. We can stop somewhere to visit several nice villages of the Dzao and Tay on the way. Lunch on the way to Vu Linh village located on the bank of Thac Ba lake and then we have chance to see the biggest man-made lake in Vietnam. We are sure the lake will make you feel worthy to be there!
Diner and stay with the Dzao people – Home stay.

Day 7: Vu Linh – Hanoi.
Today will do the best to avoid the main busy road for as long as possible . we will ride longer to get to road No2B which there is less traffics on. Then hit the road down to Red River Delta. A mixture of both challenging track and glorious sealed road all the way back to Hanoi. Be at Hanoi before rush hours and end the best cycling tour in north Vietnam.
